What’s It All About?

Running is one of my many passions.  I am often asked “What do you think about when you’re running”?  Well during one of my runs this past week, it dawned on me that I have failed to mention a very important aspect of being more organized, focused and productive.

Every week I write about a topic that focuses on improving productivity.  But what’s it really all about?

If you haven’t already, take the time to read the book called Chasing Daylight.  It’s a sad story but it is also an incredibly uplifting story.  It’s about a man named Eugene O’Kelly who was the CEO of KPMG, a large international accounting firm.  On June 1st, 2005 Gene was told he had a terminal illness and would probably not see the end of that year.  One of the amazing things about this story is what Gene did between June 1st and September 10th of 2005.

Whatever you do as a result of reading these blogs, I encourage you to take time to slow down and examine your life.  The goal of getting more organized is not to get the most out of life…it is to get the best out of life.  The only good reason to do any of the things that I talk about in my blogs is to get yourself in a place where you can joyfully participate in life.

Have a great week!

Good for you for addressing this question.

I’ve tried to take it head-on right from the beginning and will be having a couple articles relating to it posted soon. My whole idea is that many people could benefit so much from simplifying their lives to actually focus on what matters. People seem to get drowned in the day-to-day (even incredibly productive and organized people!) and lose focus on what it’s all about.

I’ll be keeping an eye on your blog 🙂
